About me
Nicolaj
My name is Nicolaj and I am an amateur wildlife photographer & filmmaker.
I am a 19 year old boy from Denmark living outside Copenhagen.
I was the kid in school when we were going to watch “Planet Earth” movies, I was the one saying “yes” when the other kids said “oh plz no, its so boring”.
In my normal day life I am a student at TEC trying to get a degree as a “Data Technician with specialty in programming or infrastructure” and when I got the time, I am out there in the forest trying to get some photos or videos of these beautiful animals and just nature in itself.
I love being out in the wild, I may be all alone but at the same time I feel connected with the forest and its the place for me where I can truly be myself and relax from the everyday stress and noise.
I have a mission to get my work out to the world, to be able to set focus on the beauty we are destroying in todays modern world with all of the problems no one wants to take care of.
How it started
When I was a little kid, my dad used to take me on tours out to the forest and to show me how wonderful nature is, I remember when we got out there it felt magical, it felt right. and as time went by we got more and more out there and took more vacations out in the wild where I just felt “This is beautiful, this is peaceful, how can anyone hate this?”.
So as I got older I went to the forest by myself and the first time when I was there myself, I tough that I might get lost, so I stayed in one part of the forest, and time after time I moved a little bit further so at one point, I knew a much bigger part of the forest then when I started, and at the same time I got a better understand of what kinds of animals lived there and where they moved to at different parts of the day.
Now when I have the knowledge and the gear, I have a better chance to show you all the beautiful nature.
But one importen thing I always say to myself.
“A PHOTO TO CAPTURE, IS A MOMENT TO REMEMBER”
